It is highly accepted that the region enriched with ancient culture, Referring to countries like Italy and Greece progressed appropriately in extreme music. In 2003, the world was stunted by ‘Circle of Perversion’ issued by Inveracity, under Unmatched Brutality Records. It is somewhat unexpected, due to their music is inclined to US brutal style, and production is awesome in many aspects, but their origin is Greece which most people only think about is mythology than brutal death metal. Nevertheless, in 2005, another band declared the madness and ability to unleash powerful music through the name, Extreme Violence. Their first full-length, Ecstasy in Pain, by Sevared Records, is totally massively accepted by brutal death metal fans wordwide, it represents crushing and destroying music. From all mentioned above, it should be aware that this country has something more than ancient civilization. Many bands are awaiting for their time to unleash their music to this world. That is rough background for Greece brutal death metal legions. One of the intriguing band is Terrordrome. Recently, their new and full-length album was released through UK label, Grindethic Records. Even though this first full-length was just created, Terrordrome has started their legend since 2000. However, from then, only remaining and founder member is Sakis Chatzitakis, the guitarist. The first release of Terrordrome is self-financed mini-CD ‘Intraveous Multiplications’ in 2002 following by demo ‘Sane-In-Sane’ in 2004. In 2006, demo, same as band name, with new and current logo established. And then, in 2007, Terrordrome unleashed on a five-way split, ‘Atrocities’ via Life Fluid Productions, containing with bands like GoldenPyre, Among the Decayed, Digging Up and Devoured. From their endeavor for brutal death metal music and works, it grasp attention from Grindethic Records, which resulted to this album, Vehement Convulsion, issuing last year.
For line-up, it is quite stable now, it contains Sakis Chatzitakis, guitarist & main man for this band, writing for all music. Peter "Terror" Ouzounis, is the vocalist (his previous band was called Laurel Path, doom metal style.), Anestis Varitiniadis is on bass position and slaughtering on drums is Bill Stavrianidis.
Vehement Convulsion represents fast brutal agitating riffs and smashing song structure. Most of guitar riffs are exhibited unifying virtuoso technics and ferocity. Average song playing time is rather short, ranging from two to early 3 minutes, but this is the consequence of packaging intense music. Not only, fast music could be heard from this album, but also many details. Multivarious elements in each songs produce attractive and unavoidable music, however, they never forget the sense of devastating. there are a total of 11 tracks available for this album. And songs are the same in quality and brutality. ‘Exposed To Life's Integration’, ‘Eradicate The Indigence’ and ‘Post Traumatic Stress Disorder’ are command for destruction. It is fast and smooth in the terms of music, and for musical technics, it shows sick guitar scales, fierce, swift and flexible with brutal melody. The drumming is quite strong and creates high speed timing suitably. The prominent is snare hammering, it is constant, accelerated and heavy. Moreover, Peter "Terror" Ouzounis reveals his ability to growl fast brutal styles especially in ‘Disputing The Throne’. The vocal line is dueling with guitar riffs. It is suprising how he can store breathing pace and keep air in his lung. That is an example of songs containing in ‘Vehement Convulsion. Continuous blasting style.
Many unique attributes of ‘Vehement Cunvulsion’ could be memorable. Their sound flows nicely, and without breaking part, the song continuation is obvious. Guitar riffs is consorted nicely as well with the speedy structure, however, it concomitantly puts some techniques to it. The drum striking is stimulating. However, it would be better if their sound is more focus than this. The sound presenting in this album is high quality but when compare with other reputed albums, ‘Vehement Convulsion’ exhibits a little roomy sound. It is a little weaker, but performance could replenish this point. The sound is high proficiency for over all instrument sound. For guitar sound, it could scratch your eardrums easily. The rhythm part is massive and sturdy, it is perfect cooperation between bass and drums. And the vocal line is very flexible, many style of voices, from growling and screams, yet it still offers the torment. Complexity is one of the missing points, which it is hard to obtain by other current bands,
but Terrordrome shows this and main importance for their music. This album was produced by George Bokos from Rotting Christ, the Gothic metal band from Greece, at Grindhouse Studio. Album artwork was finished by George Tsaousidis, which it presents the album title. This album is fast, complex and brutal, and worth buying to add to your collection. During the past few years, Grindethic Records could collect their credibility from brutal fans by releasing bands like Defeated Sanity which all of you realize their music quality. And for this time, Terrordrome enhanced Grindethic even more with Vehement Convulsion.
